Zurich, Sept.11, 2025 – Matrixport Asset Management AG, the rebranded entity formed after its acquisition of Crypto Finance (Asset Management) AG (“CFAM”) in September 2024, today announced that its flagship Crypto Market Index Fund has been successfully registered for marketing with the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) in the United Kingdom. This marketing registration enables the first and only Swiss crypto fund to be marketed and distributed in the United Kingdom to professional, qualified, and institutional clients on a private placement basis.
Originally launched in Switzerland, the Crypto Market Index Fund received authorization from FINMA, the Swiss Financial Market Supervisory Authority, in 2021 as the country’s first regulated crypto asset fund. The fund’s objective is to provide diversified crypto exposure with high institutional standards of security through advanced off-grid custody and multi-layered security mechanisms.
The fund passively tracks the Crypto Market Index 10 (CMI10), published by the SIX Swiss Exchange, which measures the performance of the ten largest and most liquid crypto assets according to its methodology rulebook, including Bitcoin, Ethereum, Ripple, and Solana, with constituents weighted by market capitalization. The fund is administered by PvB Pernet von Ballmoos, with AMINA Bank (formerly SEBA Bank) serving as custodian, ensuring institutional-grade security and compliance.
As an investment vehicle for institutional clients that is structured to be compliant, secure, and transparent, the fund combines regulatory supervision in Switzerland with full asset segregation under a regulated fund structure, setting it apart from debt instruments such as ETPs or ETNs.
The fund shall be distributed by Matrixport Advisors Limited, an appointed representative of Varramore Partners Limited, which is authorised and regulated by the FCA in the United Kingdom.
